Had to do it in two layers, putting the paint on in little "pats" for the first go around....Terry Raffertyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12128153098834209943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36202525.post-41145337173652538372008-05-13T14:23:00.000-07:002008-05-13T14:23:00.000-07:00Hello and thank you! Terry, the hardboard panel is such a smooth surface, I can't cheat with the details, wedging bits of paint into the niches of canvas weave which are not there to be utilized. I have plenty of canvasese, but have received requests by some to do works on panel as the canvas is often distracting for them. Larger paintings this is not such an issue, but the smaller ones it can be distracting, so I'm told. I guess I'm just lazy?Jelaine Fauncehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09505739232830178306noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36202525.post-71655489462599913362008-05-13T06:56:00.000-07:002008-05-13T06:56:00.000-07:00Stunning!Stunning!Takeycehttp://takeyceart.com/blognoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36202525.post-48473101223928008852008-05-12T21:48:00.000-07:002008-05-12T21:48:00.000-07:00Excellent!!!!!Excellent!!!!!Mary Hughes Studiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11676247814455974568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36202525.post-90883540510247542332008-05-12T19:39:00.000-07:002008-05-12T19:39:00.000-07:00Okay, the teacups were over the top phenomenal - b...Okay, the teacups were over the top phenomenal - but just as an image I like this one even better, the composition totally works, the color, and your unrivaled skill at creating surfaces you can really feel. Plus a sense of humor!

So, why is hardboard panel dreaded? Looks like the smooth surface worked well for the subject. Have you tried RayMar panels (hardboard covered with either cotton or linen).Terry Raffertyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12128153098834209943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36202525.post-331830194504148812008-05-12T19:26:00.000-07:002008-05-12T19:26:00.000-07:00Nice blog!Hi, regards from Indonesia.
