Teacup Study: My Mother's Collection III

"My Mother's Collection III" - 6" x 6" - oil on cradled hardboard panel - SOLD

Studies such as this are a perfect opportunity for me to test the limits of what I can accomplish at such a small scale. This is quite possibly the most difficult 6" study I have ever undertaken. The primary result is the immense satisfaction I feel knowing that I made it all the way through without any major catastrophes.

After several months of working my way up to starting this one, I had trained my eye and my hand to work together in harmony and was able to create a final study which I am very comfortable showcasing on my blog. Don't get me wrong, it was laborious. But it was also worth it. I am much more confident in myself as an artist because of this experience.

The Mother Lode

"The Mother Lode" - 8"x 8" - oil on canvas - SOLD
*
Here is the final product from my time with Chubby, the little bronze hellion Steve Worthington so kindly lent me. I think the title is fairly self-explanatory. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of Steve's project. I can't wait to see what the other artists have come up with.

Did I mention Chubby shaved my cat before he left town? Specifically he gave it a mohawk, wrapped it in Christmas lights and referred to it as 'Dynamo'. So I guess Chubby is a Schwarzenegger fan. What a shock.
