Egg Study - "Now Being Served"

"Now Being Served" - 6" x 6" - oil on cradled hardboard panel - NFS

My love of mid-20th century ad art compels me to include it in my work whenever possible. A taste for refraction and the color orange makes this little study a perfect trifecta of awesome for me to paint. Thoroughly enjoyed this one.

There was once this diner in town that served a ham and egg special. The funny part was that they advertised it by painting the window with a pig in a cook's outfit serving a plate of Ham 'N Eggs.

I thought that a pig serving one of it's own kind was hilarious.

The refraction is perfect. I love the letters viewed through the clear glass. The albumin even looks viscous! Great job!

Costescu, don't sue me if you break something in the fall! ;o)

I was sleepy when I read your comment Marilyn, that I had to look up 'viscous' in the dictionary because I couldn't remember what it meant. LOL Thank you, btw!

Kristen, it does give one pause to think, no?

Thank you, K! When are you loaning me that lucky painting of yours, btw?
