Sugar Study III

The third in a series of sugar cube studies, piled high in a copper and bronze handled tea service dish. Warm sienna against soft gray is such a perfect contrast in my estimation. I love to work with these colors together. After having finished the copper salt and pepper shakers, I wasn't finished working with copper as a subject, so I began this one immediately afterward.

I love the way that you tilted the top back. Also having the sugar be the brightest value in the painting is sure genius.

Back when I used to have hair it was the same color as that beautifully painted dish.
And those sugar cubes are a perfect match for my tan...
