Continuing on with my 2nd daily painting, I wanted to do another version of the wonderful little wind up penguin M Collier sent to me last Fall. Such a happy little face. Setting him on a table for photographing, light coming in through a window above him, he looked to me like he was seeing a vision of the Virgin Mary in the clouds above. I thought it was funny, so that's the way I painted it.

Well I sure would like to purchase the little guy. 'Specially if he is seeing Mary - perhaps it would impress all my new Catholic friends

That's funny - he does look like that! At first glance I though he looked like he really, really wanted to fly but couldn't! Beautifully painted too.
I was so happy to see this little guy on DailyPainters' home page! I love his innocent expression and whimsical character. He feels like an old friend.
