Back in December we found out our Challenge was going to appear in the May 2009 issue of Art Calendar magazine. We were very pleased to share our story with fellow artists, and on Friday I received my copy of Art Calendar. I thought I'd post the article here for all to read (in really large format, apparently, because I can't manage to scan an article in anything smaller than 'blind as a bat' size). What a great article. The monthly challenge is what first brought me to your site Jelaine (and now I check your blog daily). I love the idea behind the challenge. At some point I am going to try this challenge thing with some like-minded artists. Thanks for posting this as I would never have found it otherwise.

It's a thrill to see you in print so it must be a REAL thrill for you! Any job can feel like a rut after awhile and I'm thinking myself I need to stretch because there is so much I want to do artistically. I'm not 20 I need to do while there is time to do. Thanks for sharing!

Jelaine's challenge group inspired me to start my own and we've been at it every month for almost 3 years now. It's been fun, frustrating, difficult, educational, inspiring, made us think, gotten us out of our comfort zones and built a lot of camaraderie in our member group. Every month is a new adventure!
